Our History

British Educational Institutes (BEI) were established in 1952. They were initially focusing on providing courses and diploma programmes in a wide variety of disciplines. Thus, the BEI were able to provide affordable British educational programmes. BEI started up classes to provide various programmes in English. Thus, we succeeded in preparing professional accountants and auditors to qualify for the membership of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA. Meanwhile, more and more English Training Programmes were introduced in Sudan and UK.

Several new branches were opened in Khartoum, Omdurman, Khartoum North, Medani, Portsudan, El Dueim, Kassala and Atbra started operating during three decades.

The story of BEI development then went on by starting-up one of its most successful educational filed; the first British Educational Schools BES primary school was opened in Khartoum North followed by Medani, Kosti, Kalakla and Portsudan.

New BES schools in Omdurman in and East Nile were opened to extend the services to all three cities of the State of Khartoum. Also new schools were opened in the states continued to include Kassala, Sinnar, Damer, Shendy and Yathrib.

In 2003, the first English curriculum was established to provide international education in Khartoum leading to International General Certificate of Secondary Education IGCSE. The school located in Arkaweet has physics lab, biology and chemistry lab, computer lab that has N-computing, library, cafeteria, basketball and volleyball courts. Extra curricular activities include music and sport for all levels.

In 2013, BEI with Global Services Centre, became official Edexcel Approved Centre in Sudan. Edexcel provides programmes leading to Higher National Certificate HNC and Higher National Diploma HND. Those who obtain HND can join any British university in Britain or continue to get a bachelor’s degree from a British university while studying in Sudan.

International professional certificates are available from British, European and American organizations such as International Computer Driver’s License, MPM, and BAAC.
